1. Promote Computer and Communication Literacy and
Enhance Science and Technology Studies and the use of
Information Systems
to ensure maximum competency and
integration in an information and communication
society. |

2. Develop
Learning and Reasoning Skills - shift the focus from
providing expertise in knowledge
dependent skills to
providing expertise in general learning
and reasoning skills
that can be adapted in a flexible manner
to different subject
matter and varying citcumstances. |

3. Develop
Interpersonal Skills and Team-Work - children of all
ages need personal inter-action with
each other and with
adults to learn social and interpersonal
skills such as how to
work cooperatively. The.convenience of
long-distance
communication and the rapid transfer of
information across
the globe give a new meaning to the
concept of team-work.
This requires the mastering of
competencies and capabilities
which include team-work, interpersonal
collaborative skills
such as negotiation, organizational
effectiveness, leadership,
social skills, professional attitudes
and constructive work
values and habits-self-esteem,
goal-setting, motivation and
desire for quality. |

4. Expand and
Deepen the Cognitive and Learning Skills of the
students. The Project will utilize new
methods of learning that
are made possible by communication media
to help the
students acquire learning skills for
life-long studies. |
Spheres of Intervention

1. Exposure and Personal Experience - MeteORiTe
aims at
connecting the students with national and
international
systems - economic (high-tech industries),
administrative,
cultural and educational. Ort is committed to
contribute to
the development of highly skilled,
profession-oriented
work-force. MeteORiTe will expand and diversify
the
experience of the students. The computers -
multimedia and
communication will be utilized to link the
students with Ort
schools in the world and with economic-especially
high-tech
industries, administrative, educational and
cultural systems. |

2. Promote the use of Modern Physical Environment - the
Project aims to utilize, where possible and
create, where
necessary, MeteORiTe zone in the schools
characterized
by a modern environment, work and method
facilities.
The area will serve as a model and catalyst for
the desired
school spirit. |

3. Join Theory
with Practice - Pedagogical Project Approach -
a number of projects will be initiated
on school-related
subjects. The projects framework will be
flexible to allow
adaptation to varying pedagogic needs.
Priority will be
given to science and technology subjects
and their impact
on society.
