The faith of Israel's educational authorities in the ORT Network is reflected in the approval granted it by the Council for Higher Education for conferring academic degrees to engineers and teachers of technology.

Those who successfully complete the three- or four-year academic tracks receive a full academic Baccalaureate degree: Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) or Bachelor of Education in Technology (B.Ed.Tech). These are university degrees in every respect, which enable their holders to continue their studies toward the second and third degrees in any institution of higher learning.

The ORT Educational Network pioneered the opening of these academic tracks because its forward-looking leaders were astute enought to predict - long before other educators - the need for teachers with special training in teaching technology according to the latest syllabi of the Junior and Senior High Schools, as well as the need for increasing numbers of engineers with the kind of technological expertise requered in industrial fields, particulary in science-based enterprises.

Tracks offered include:

  • In the academic lane for training engineers - electricity-electronics, industry and management, mechanics, automation and control, biotechnology, and computers.
  • In the academic lane for training teachers of technology - electronics, computers, and science and technology.

The management of ORT is continuously expanding its academic framework facilities for the convenience of students from various geographic areas, in a manner which will include the maximum range of study subjects and expertise.

The objective is a link between training and employment, in order to ensure rapid and favorable absorption into the labor market, for the mutual benefit of the graduates, industry, and the economy.
